As part of our commitment to our values of Excellence, Respect and Responsibility, we celebrate and acknowledge student achievement.
Mid and End of Year Awards Ceremonies
At Lilydale Heights College, we celebrate both academic and personal achievement at our Awards Ceremonies, held in the middle and end of each year.
Each subject has three award categories: High Distinction, Distinction, and Personal Achievement.
- High Distinction: For students performing at least one year above the expected level, who also show a positive attitude and appropriate behaviour in class.
- Distinction: For students performing at least six months above the expected level, with a positive attitude and good behaviour in class.
- Personal Achievement: For students who consistently try their best, show a positive attitude, and behave appropriately in class.
VCE students can also be nominated for awards based on outstanding achievement in their subjects.
Green Chronicles
Teachers may award Green Chronicles to any student. Green Chronicles acknowledge student achievement in alignment with the school’s values (Excellence, Respect, Responsibility). These merits are awarded for behaviours exceeding expectations of the college, or that represent a significant achievement for the student.
Each Green Chronicle a student receives also awards them with points toward their House.
Students can receive Green Chronicles from:
- Teacher/Staff – 1 point
- Learning Leaders/Liaison – 3 points
- Principal class – 5 points
