Student Leadership

At Lilydale Heights College, our student leadership model is based upon our core values of Excellence, Respect, and Responsibility. Student leaders play a pivotal role in shaping college decisions and nurturing an inclusive learning environment that not only empowers students but also champions their voices.

Central to our College culture is the commitment to nurturing and unlocking leadership potential. We achieve this by offering a diverse array of leadership roles and platforms. At Lilydale Heights College, student leadership takes on various forms, including:

  • College Captains
  • College Vice Captains
  • College Prefects
  • House Captains
  • Music Captains
  • Sustainability Captains
  • First Nations Captains
  • Peer Support Leadership

At Lilydale Heights College, we believe students should have a genuine voice in shaping their school. That’s why our students take part in our staff recruitment process, ensuring they help select the teachers and support staff who will work closely with them each day. This unique approach builds a strong sense of partnership and community, where students are valued, empowered, and heard.

Student Interact Representative Council

Lilydale Heights College, in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Lilydale, has established an Interact Club. This club provides students with a platform to collaborate, focusing on community service whilst acquiring valuable skills for supporting others.

Our Student Interact Representative Council (SIRC) offers students the opportunity to develop their leadership skills while discovering the significance of ‘Service Above Self.’ It’s a chance for students to explore how leadership can be both impactful and enjoyable. Students take proactive steps to make a positive impact on our school and the wider community.
