Year 7 Enrolment

Application from a Government School

Parents/carers of students attending a Government primary school will receive the Year 6 – 7 Transition Information Pack from their primary school at the beginning of Term 2.

All families must complete the Application for Year 7 Placement form and submit it to their primary school as specified within the statewide timeline. Primary schools will submit all initial placement requests directly to secondary schools.

Please note, students transitioning from a Government primary school must enrol through their primary school and are not permitted to enrol directly with their preferred Government secondary school.

If you would like your child to attend Lilydale Heights College, it is important to list us as your first preference.

Application from a Non-Government School

Families of Year 6 students at non-government schools wanting to enrol at a Victorian government school may approach secondary schools directly if their child’s primary school is not supporting the statewide placement process. Non-government families must use the Application for Year 7 Placement available in the parent/carer information pack.

Families from non-government schools will need to complete the Application for Year 7 Placement form and email it directly to [email protected]

Please note, this form is only available for students transferring from a non-government school.

If you would like your child to attend Lilydale Heights College, it is important to list us as your first preference.

Year 8-12 Enrolment

Due to a large number of enrolment applications, we can no longer accommodate enrolments for out of zone students for Term 1, 2026.

Any out-of-zone enrolment enquiries received after 5/12/2026 will be considered for enrolment to begin in Term 2, 2026.

If you are interested in enrolling at Lilydale Heights College, please complete the Application Form and send to [email protected] If you require a paper form, please contact the school office on 9735 1133.

An enrolment form will be provided when placement is offered.

Our school follows the Department of Education’s Enrolment Policy for the enrolment, placement, and transfer of students.

Students who live within the school zone are guaranteed a place at our school. To find out whether you live in zone, visit www.findmyschool.vic.gov.au

All other applications will be considered subject to available space, and prioritised according to:

  1. students with a sibling at the same permanent address who are attending the school at the same time
  2. all other students in order of closeness of their home to the school.

Please note that proof of permanent residence is required as part of your application. For more information, please refer to 100-Point Address Checklist (pdf)

Enrolment Restrictions

Our school has an enrolment restriction under section 2.2.16 of the Education and Training Reform Act 2006 (Vic), limiting enrolments for the current school year.

We will accept enrolments from:

  • students who live within the school zone
  • students with a sibling attending the school at the same time
  • students enrolling on compassionate grounds, in exceptional circumstances.

Depending on available places, we may be able to accept a small number of out-of-zone enrolments according to next closest to the school. The Department of Education reviews this restriction annually and will update advice for future years.
