Investigating the historical relationships of the Cape Liptrap area

Our year 12 group completed their first outdoor experience this week: 3 days investigating the historical relationships of the Cape Liptrap area.

Structured Workplace Learning

Structured Workplace Learning (SWL) is on-the-job training that allows students to develop their work skills and understand employer expectations. SWL is available to Lilydale Heights College students undertaking a VET program as part of their VCE or VCAL studies.

End of Year Showcase 2017

The Lilydale Heights College End of Year Showcase was held once again in October 2017 at the Karralyka Theatre in Ringwood. The evening included performances by all of the College’s Music Ensembles, allowing all of our instrumental music students an opportunity to display the incredible skills to which they have dedicated so much time and effort all year.

Middle School Language Discover Class

Congratulations to the Language Discovery students for their efforts in creating a Japanese cooking show. Students wrote scripts then cooked Japanese pancake (Okonomiyaki) while hosting the show using only their Japanese skills. Great job everyone!

Year 7 Design Task

Year 7’s have been busy designing their own smoothie with some great results.

Year 7 and Cool Foods Packaging and Labelling Task

Year 7’s, 9’s and 10’s completed a labelling assessment task where they had to decorate and label and biscuit boxes and pizza boxes. This was to educate them on the important information on food packaging.

Year 7 - Studying Food and Drink in Japanese

Year 7 students have been studying food and drink in Japanese this term. Recently they had the opportunity in class to learn how to use chopsticks and apply their conversational language skills whilst eating cup noodles (which originated in Japan not China – there is some debate about this!).

An overnight camp and hike for the first time is always a massive achievement which is no easy feat.

Middle School Outdoor Ed Kayaking Day - October 2017

We paddled the 8km section of river from Homestead Road to Wittons Reserve featuring some quite substantial rapids that have caught a number of experienced paddlers out.

Year 11 Outdoor Environment Studies - Philip Island Experience

Analysing impacts to outdoor environments, the balancing of tourism, commercial, recreation and conservation activities.

Our Duke of Ed and Compass Award students completes their first adventurous journey expedition

We went to the Murrindindi Scenic Reserve where the students had to complete a 2 day self-sufficient journey in the natural environments.
