Year 11 Food Studies - Catering for a Small Scale Catering Operation

Year 11 Food Studies were involved in running a small scale catering operation as part of their assessment. Their design brief was to produce a range of suitable food items to sell for supper at the school production of Wizard of OZ. They did a great job and I was very pleased with their enthusiasm.

Visiting the Shrine of Remembrance - August 2017

Ms Doughty's 9/10 Global Conflicts class visited The Shrine of Remembrance in Melbourne.

It was a great day with a full guided tour.

Science Club - June 2017

The theme for Science Club this term has been food. We have tried to sink a marshmallow, turned skittles into a rainbow, made sherbet, undertaken blind food testing and tested the pH of different substances. It has been loads of fun, as well as educational.

First Tech School Opens In Yarra Ranges

Lilydale Heights College is proud to be a partner of this initiative and access the Tech School throughout the year for specialised programs. On 18 April our students participated in the opening ceremony and had their first hands-on experience with the new environment.

Science Club 2017

We have had a fun start to Science Club this year. A dedicated group of Year 7 students have been coming Thursday lunchtimes to observe demonstrations and participate in experiments.

Photograms by Year 7 Students 2017

The photogram represents a unique art form requiring only the action of light on a photosensitive substrate. By placing objects onto a piece of light sensitive paper in a darkroom, students can use an enlarger to cast light onto the paper and capture the silhouettes of the objects.

Rhythm Rights Respect Workshop

On Tuesday 8th November, the Year 9 students were given the opportunity to participate in a half day Rhythm Rights Respect Workshop.
