How do I change my college password?

Attention:
These instructions are not applicable for parents going to change their Compass passwords.
If you are a parent and want to chanage your Compass password go to a special Compass link.

At this page you can find information on the Password Ploicy and how to change the college password.

Lilydale Heights Password Policy ❭

If you have Windows computer supplied by the College ❭

If you have MacBook computer supplied by the College ❭

If you have one of four Windows computer managed by the DET (Administrative Network - EDU001) ❭

If you have a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) ❭

Lilydale Heights Password Policy

Your new password must comply with the Lilydale heights College password policy:

  • Passwords must be changed regularly.
  • Passwords must be eight characters or more.
  • Passwords must contain characters from three of the following four categories:
    • Uppercase characters of European languages (A through Z)
    • Lowercase characters of European languages (a through z)
    • Base 10 digits (0 through 9)
    • Nonalphanumeric characters: ~!#$%^&*_-+=`|(){}[]:;"'<>,.?/
  • Your password must be changed every 127 days.
  • Passwords must be kept secure and confidential.
  • You must lock your screen when you leave your computer (Windows Key + L)
  • You are accountable for any use or access to College systems with your UserID
  • You must not store your passwords on or near your computer.
  • You should only keep a paper record of your password if it can be stored securely.
  • You must not use anyone else’s UserID or password. EVER!
  • You must not give anyone else your UserID or password. Even IT!
  • Don't use family or pet names or dictionary words in your password
  • If you believe your password has been compromised you must report it ASAP to IT.

If you have Windows computer supplied by the College

Take a few simple steps only when you are at the College and connected to the network. Do not do this at home. Do not warry if your password expires before you can access the school network. You can change it on your first day at the College.
View the Password Policy.

  1. Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete, and then click Change a password.
  2. Type your old password followed by a new password as indicated, and then type the new password again to confirm it.
  3. Press Enter.

If you have MacBook computer supplied by the College

Take a few simple steps only when you are at the College and connected to the network. Do not do this at home. Do not warry if your password expires before you can access the school network. You can change it on your first day at the College.
View the Password Policy.

  1. Click on the Apple icon in the upper left corner of the screen and select System Preferences from the drop down menu.
  2. Click on Users & Groups, select your account and password tab on the right side.
  3. Click Change Password.
  4. Type your old password followed by a new password as indicated, and then type the new password again to confirm it. Type password hint (optional).
  5. Click Change Password / Press Enter.
  6. Close System Preferences.

If you have one of four Windows computer managed by the DET (Administrative Network - EDU001)

Take a few simple steps when you are at the College or at home and you have internet connection.
View the Password Policy.

  1. Go to https://passcore.lilydaleheights.vic.edu.au/
  2. Type your current password followed by a new password as indicated, and then type the new password again to confirm it.
  3. Click Change Password.

Additional steps to update the school password on your admin desktop (This can be done at the College only or through remote access to your admin desktop):

  1. Go to drive U:\
  2. Locate file AdminMapper.ps1, right click it and select Run with PowerShell.
  3. If asked about changing the script execution policy, type Y (Yes) and press Enter.
  4. When prompted, type your DET Staff ID (e.g. 01234567) without any prefix (curric or edu001) and the new school password.
  5. Click Ok / Press Enter.

Note: If you read this instruction, do not use Ctrl+Alt+Delete method on your desktop because it will change your DET/eduMail password but not the school one.

If you have a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)

Take a few simple steps when you are at the College or at home and you have internet connection.
View the Password Policy.

  1. Go to https://passcore.lilydaleheights.vic.edu.au/.
  2. Type your current password followed by a new password as indicated, and then type the new password again to confirm it.
  3. Click Change Password.

Additional steps to update the school password on your BYOD.

  1. Go to https://byod.lilydaleheights.vic.edu.au.
  2. Sign in using your new school password.
  3. Accept terms and conditions.
  4. Select Option I have changed my school password and click Configure My PC/MacBook/iPad.
  5. Download and run the BYOD configuration utility. Follow screen instructions.
